Om ABODE is the only Social Innovation Institute and Skill Development Centre for diverse learners that also has a Residential Campus attached to it. It is a multi-functional ecosystem set in the midst of nature, a home-away-from-home for persons with disability to live and learn over a period of time. They will learn to live independently and get trained in a vocation best suited to their aptitude. The team of faculty and care-workers have many years of experience working with the multiply disabled.

The emphasis at Om ABODE is on the overall growth of the resident Young Adults. It provides them holistic training through innovative teaching methodologies taught by qualified faculty. It also offers a safe, secure and friendly environment to learn and live in close proximity to nature. They are groomed to learn skills that will fetch them a sustainable livelihood. The program and teaching methodology is structured on enabling them to become self-reliant as well as earning members of society.

Yes. Male / female, between the ages of 18 to 45 years will be admitted based on their heath condition/s and subject to clearance based on the criteria set out by the Institute's Admission Committee.

The registration process involves clicking on apply now (Preliminary Application Form with necessary documents). After the admission panel goes through the Preliminary Application Form, shortlisted students will be called for a potential marking test. Applicants successfully clearing the marking test will receive the Provisional Admission Form which will be emailed to the Parent / Guardian on receipt of a non-refundable payment of INR 2000/-. The Provisional Admission Form is to be filled by the Parent / Guardian and submitted online along with scanned copies of the necessary supporting documents.

As for residential program, the candidates opting for the same will be shortlisted and intimated after evaluation of provisional admission form. The eligible candidates will be monitored during the course of the 6-months program and their compatibility with the curriculum will be monitored and recorded by the admission panel and shared with Parent / Guardian.

  • Hard-copy of the Provisional Admission Form, duly filled along with copies of the necessary supporting documents.
  • Aadhar card or any other valid Government photo identification (Pan Card / Passport).
  • Passport and other related documents (in case of international admission). The admission process is same as mentioned for both Indian and International Students. For International applicants, the Admission panel can arrange a preliminary screening with the applicant via telephone or Skype once enquiry form is submitted and reviewed by our Admission Office. International Students should possess a student visa that is valid for one year with two/three entries once their application is accepted by the Admission panel. The parents are responsible for the validity of students' passport and/or visas. All necessary foreign registration formalities should be completed.
  • Valid disability/IQ Certificate.
  • Previous School Report/ Document.
  • Doctor's or Medical Certificate in case of medical condition.
  • List of medication VALIDATED by a doctor.
  • A complete medical test including the functionality / mobility of the Applicant.
  • 6 set of colour passport size photos, with one family photo.
  • An initial potential marking test will be conducted, following which, independent living analysis will be done during the 6-month Foundation Program.
  • A valid medical health check-up report(Blood Routine, Stool Routine, Urine, X-ray of Chest, Typhoid Vaccination, along with the doctor's visit report of the students interested in taking admission.
  • A physical mobility fitness test and related reports.

The Institute welcomes international students. International applicants will need to go through the prescribed intake assessment and compatibility tests. A strict screening of medical tests will be done prior to admission. Special care will be taken to ensure that International students settle into the new milieu with ease.

An average of 10 to 15 students in each skill development class with a ratio of 3 staff members.

There are Caregivers, Dorm Parents and Faculty Members living on campus to look after the boarders. In addition, there are maids and housekeeping staff for cleaning and helping with the boarders' needs.

In addition to Educators, Resident Educators and staff-in-charge, should your child / ward require additional support, please mention the same in the Provisional Admission Form for the consideration of the Institute's Admission Committee.

The Institute has a qualified doctor on call. Besides, trained nursing staff is available round the clock to administer medication as required. A clinic with basic functional amenities is on campus. In addition, a multi-specialty Hospital is a 35-minute drive from the Campus.

Resident students are permitted to bring their mobile device which will be in safekeeping and will be given to them at the scheduled time for interaction with their family. In case of an emergency, the family of the residents can contact the staff in charge. Communication with students will be at an allotted time on a regular basis.

Om ABODE has Security Officers patrolling the campus round the clock. Moreover, with all corridors and common areas under CCTV surveillance, all movement is closely monitored and recorded. There is only one entrance for vehicular traffic to ensure maximum safety and security. With a ratio of 3:1 students will be under supervision at all times.

The Institute follows the POCSO Act, 2012, and imparts training and security measures to its staff as part of the Institute’s ISO quality standards.

The Institute will have an in-house catering service available for all residents. The food provided will be of nutritious value that promotes a healthy lifestyle. The dorm parents will look after the special needs of each young adult.

Om ABODE traces its roots and legacy to Om Creations Trust, a pioneering Mumbai-based non-profit organization that has been engaged in channeling the inherent abilities of mentally challenged young adults in productive ways for the past 30 years. The pioneering training methodology was formulated by Special Educator, Dr Radhike Khanna, as part of her doctoral thesis. It emphasizes the role of art and creativity as crucial aspects in maximizing the potential of differently abled students.

Resident Young Adults can look look forward to indoor and outdoor games, performing arts & other recreational-cum-therapeutic skills that will keep them not just physically active but also help improve social and interpersonal communication skills.
