Located by the entrance, the Reception & Administration Wing is the operations centre of the Institute. It also houses a cheery Café and a Store for the display and sale of the creations made by the young adults.
Each room, with an attached bathroom, accommodates young adults on a twin- or triple-sharing basis. A bed, a study table and chair, a book shelf and a wardrobe are allocated for each student. Cheerful and spacious interiors with natural light and ventilation are enhanced by colourful wall graphics. A courtyard in each dorm provides the space for lively interactions and for improving social skills while also generating a sense of familial bonding. Each dorm houses a resident Caregiver (couple) and an Assistant Caregiver for 24/7 assistance.
Situated on the curve of a gentle slope with scenic views of the verdant surroundings, the Guest House, with individual rooms with attached bathrooms, is thoughtfully designed to ensure a comfortable stay for parents and visitors.
Situated at one of the highest points of the site overlooking the Dining Block, the Faculty Suites are in close proximity to the male and female dormitories as well as the Workshop Blocks. The units, with a living room, bedroom and kitchenette, are functional and spacious.
The Dining Hall is conveniently situated at the centre of the site, close to the workshops and the dorms. The adjoining kitchen area ensures that all meals served are fresh and hot. The Amphitheatre is the social hub of the Institute and an ideal venue to host events and performances.
The Institute lays special emphasis on the holistic wellbeing of the young adults. A daily regime of yoga and outdoor activities are combined with a host of prescribed therapies and activities such as music, dance, drama, among others, and administered at the Therapy Centre in accordance with specific requirements.
Arranged in a cluster-like formation, the Workshop Blocks comprise large, airy high-ceilinged spaces with natural lighting and ventilation in addition to inspiring views that make learning and working a joyful and stimulating experience. Each workshop is issued with the necessary tools, equipments and materials to facilitate the training process.
The health, fitness, mobility and flexibility of the young adults is of prime concern and given the utmost priority. An in-house team of doctors and medical support staff are briefed to conduct regular check-ups to ensure that your child's health is in safe and caring hands.
Dr. Anita R. Daswani graduated from Mumbai University with a First Class Honors in Homeopathy in 1979. She began her journey in medicine by joining the famous Homeopath, Dr. Rashid Wadia, whose late father Dr. Sarosh Wadia was the first to introduce Homeopathy in India. She has had a successful practice for over three decades and earned numerous credentials for her treatments.
Her sensitive and caring nature towards children led her to treat the 'differently abled'. She visited Om Creations Trust for the first time nearly 15 years ago and has since continued her association with them.
Under Dr. Radhike Khanna's foresight and persuasion, she started OM MEDICARE, an in-house clinic at the Center to treat young adults, their families and staff members with homeopathy. Her compassionate nature makes it easy for Young Adults to open up to her with ease. She also regularly counsels their parents who, at times, find it a challenge to cope and manage their child's 'special needs'. She has had a steady success rate in treating hyperactivity, ADHD, Epilepsy and various other disorders.
Dr. Daswani regularly arranges various medical camps like BMD(Bone Mineral Density), Gynaec. Camps along with conducting PAP smear investigations for early cancer detection, talks on awareness, importance and prevention of Breast Cancer, Nutrition & Fitness, among others, to ensure 'holistic wellness' for all at the organization.
Besides contributing in her professional capacity, Dr. Daswani walks that extra mile to help in fund-raising activities and in the promotion and sale of products crafted by the specially-abled. She is rewarded not only by witnessing improvements in the health and habits of Young Adults in her charge, but also by the affectionate bond that she is able to forge with them.
She now continues her journey by embarking on board Om ABODE as Medical Advisor.
Om ABODE adopts an ecologically-sensitive approach in utilizing the natural resources on site. A sustainable and regenerative environment is maintained through efficient rain and groundwater management as well as treatment of waste water and use of solar energy.
Om ABODE is visualized over two phases. Construction work for Phase 1 is nearing completion. The Institute will welcome its first batch of 80 young adults in 2019. When fully realized, the sprawling campus will be able to house 320 young adults.
Besides an attentive, alert and trained team of careworkers, staff and security personnel, the entire campus, including the common areas and pathways are integrated with CCTV cameras for enhanced security.
